Malaysiakini - Letter

From Malaysiakini - Hopeful Citizen

I have been a staunch MCA supporter for years and was happy with what the party was under the leadership of Ong Tee Keat.

To many of us who have known him since he was the MCA Youth chief, he has always been a very down-to-earth man and one who has strong religious principles.

When one of my friends approached him years ago for some help, he was more than willing to go out of his way and help. We have also seen him regularly at our local temples, praying.

However, of late, things seem to be going downhill for him. I wonder if all this is the work of one man who has been a key player behind the Port Klang Free Zone scandal?

Are all MCA members blinded by what is going on? Do they not realise that this whole fiasco in the party is because someone is trying to cover up certain wrongdoings in the PKFZ scandal which Tee Keat is trying to expose?

What the MCA should do now to regain the people's confidence is rally behind their president and expose to us, the taxpayers, what we want to know and who the real culprits in PKFZ are.
If a leader gets penalised each time he tries to expose a wrongdoing, then there is no more hope for us. We need leaders who are willing to risk it all.

We have had more than enough of those who are there merely for their own interests.
